Altered bloom

Intro

Altered Bloom (2024) by Harto is a lenticular artwork that transforms depending on the viewer’s perspective, blurring the boundaries between abstraction and organic form. Inspired by Robert Mallary’s exploration of texture, transformation, and digital processes, this piece reflects a modern interpretation of dynamic visual shifts.

Concept

Composed of intricate layers of floral and geometric patterns, Altered Bloom captures the tension between natural growth and technological precision. Its vibrant colors and evolving forms evoke a sense of metamorphosis, challenging the viewer to explore perception and meaning through movement and light.

Printed using a lenticular technique, the artwork invites multiple interpretations, aligning with Mallary’s legacy of abstraction and structured complexity. Altered Bloom serves as both homage and innovation, offering a contemporary dialogue between tradition and modernity.
