A 2020 series of small 3D scenes in colour and geometry, minted on Ethereum.
«Memphis» gathers seven works from 2020, five of them one-of-one and two in editions of ten. Each is a small staged scene in flat colour, with a few figures placed among simple solids.
The title recalls the Memphis design movement, and the pieces share its vocabulary: checkerboards, zigzag patterns, bright primaries, shapes that look like furniture and stage sets. The scenes are quiet and staged, with one or two small figures at the centre of each.
The artist’s own description is brief, «Unique pieces of color and geometry», and the work is best read the same way: as an exercise in colour and form.
Rendered images, minted as tokens on Ethereum. The collection is an ERC-1155 contract, with the symbol «mems». Two of the seven works, «Splash» and «Save the Queen», are listed as editions of ten; the others are one-of-one.
